Trend alert: Watermelon

I was busy checking out the 'latest in' from Mr Price when I stumbled across one of their 'hot stories'. I love how they've taken two hot colours for spring and incorporated them into a colour trend, watermelon! Basically the watermelon trend means using any coral colours or emerald/mint colours in your wardrobe, very easy to nail it! You can check out the story and the items here - happy shopping!

Trend Alert: Safari Chic

I don't know if it's just because I am from Africa, but I am loving this khaki-inspired Safari trend! Something about it is screaming out at me, and if I trust my instincts then I know it will be a bigger trend going forward.

I came across these images on Citymob earlier (I have singed up for the daily email) and I am in love, the prices aren't too bad either! You can check out all the individual prices and other looks here

Weekend Roundup

Happy Monday! Wow, did I have an eventful and wonderful weekend... My best friend, Diane, is getting married in 4 weeks so this weekend we celebrated with a kitchen tea and hen's party. I also attended the international BMW polo test match yesterday in Sunninghill. Here are a few pics:

Here is my outfit from the kitchen tea at the Crabtree & Evelyn Tea Room in Fourways. I wore a Primark dress and Mr Price shoes

We held the hen's party at Beefcakes in Illovo. Diane and I are wearing 1950s Housewives outfits from Masquerade in Edenvale.

I wore a chevron top from Woolies to the polo, I was also wearing high-waisted Mr Price jeans and Mr Price wedges. My hat is from Mr Price, my sunnies are Prada and all of my accessories are from Sass Diva. I am also wearing fabulous Lancome lippie.

What did you get up to this weekend?

Mr Price Haul: August 2013

Although I currently have a strict embargo on online, and any kind, of shopping - I slipped. When I get inspiration for blog posts or do any kind of trend spotting, I need to go through international and local websites, blogs and online shops to get a view of what's going down, dun dun duuuunnnn. I am now filling a basket at Mr Price online, oh well. Two guesses for what trends I am currently obsessed with...

Stunning Sandton Hotel - The Maslow

The Maslow (4 star) is a the ultimate business hotel in Sandton. I have been to this hotel since it's relaunch for a couple events and it is absolutely stunning, it is also very central being on the corner of 2 well-known roads in Sandton. Guests can feel at ease with the facilities, technology and intelligence in place to facilitate business. The Maslow’s uncapped WiFi offering is without a doubt the fastest in Sandton.

Situated in the heart of Sandton's business district, home to top investment banks, financial institutions, the Gautrain station and the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, The Maslow offers some of the best corporate services and facilities in Sandton, including free and unlimited WiFi connectivity throughout the hotel, in the 12 meeting rooms and the conference centre which includes a multi-divisible ballroom and auditorium. There is also a techno gym and an Africology Spa.The Maslow hotel offers a complimentary scheduled return transfer service every 15 minutes to the Gautrain Station and Sandton City. Guests may also make use of the Maslow's private chauffer service.

Restaurants & Bars

The Lacuna Bistro and Bar at The Maslow Hotel is not any ordinary restaurant, it is a sophisticated urban bistro serving international cuisine using only the best local produce. This is where you can enjoy express food, linger over dinner, or eat at the bar counter. Lacuna serves breakfast and lunch through to dinner daily.

Lacuna Private Dining Room
A glass enclosed private dining room is able to accommodate between 10 to 15 diners, perfect for a secluded chef’s table. This unique setting overlooking the gardens allows patrons to enjoy an intimate dining experience. We will design bespoke menus for clients and due to its locality to the show kitchen, guests are able to interact with Executive Chef Dallas Orr. I will be sure to use this dining room for private events going forward, love this idea!

Spa, Health & Beauty (my personal favourite)
The Africology Spa at The Maslow Hotel assists you to re-balance, re-group and function at optimum levels. Africology understands that outcome based treatments are beneficial in a therapeutic, prescriptive offering which is why Africology therapists are regarded as health care consultants as they are able to assess your health needs and treat relevant conditions. Africology products are inspired by Mother Nature using naturally blended Marula oils and Ghana Shea infused with African potato, Aloe and Rooibos, creating inspiring aromas and products that work wonders. Africology use pure and natural ingredients, free of chemicals and combine these with the wisdom of traditional healers. The Copper and Hot Stone Pedicure looks incredible!! Read more here

S#!t Bloggers Wear: Celine Bag

I was told about this amazing Tumblr called "Shit Bloggers Wear" a couple weeks ago and did a proper browse last week. Boy, did I laugh my toosh off! This blog is incredibly accurate and I decided to go have a look at all of my pins on *Fashion Frenzy and Awe Accessories (on Pinterest) as I knew I have pinned a lot of these looks from my fave bloggers. Here's my first instalment of 'proof' that this blog is true (for bloggers worldwide, myself included):

Jo Carlin Sale at Diligo

I came across this little number whilst browsing through the Jo Carlin Sale that went live today on Diligo. I LOVE the colour palette (keeping it within the blue colour family) that ensures the bold print doesn't become too overwhelming and I also love the balance of the look; the loose batwing sleeves on top scaled to the tight pencil skirt on bottom. If you'd like to check out this item, and many others in the sale, click here - Sale is on for a week, so don't miss out!

D'Ore launches online store!

Online shopping, to me, is a heaven sent! I spend hours a week, sometimes 'window shopping' and most times doing the real thing ;)

D'Ore just launched their online store and if you sign off then you can win a R50,000 personal shopping experience, how can you say no to that, right? I personally have my eye on a pair of Rupert Sanderson heels and a Elie Tahari dress! Chick here to register - good luck!

COVETED: Superga kicks in gold

These gorgeous gold Superga's must be mine!!! I've checked them out a couple times in the Sandton City store but the price gets me every time, I usually spend money on stilettos -not sneakers! What do you think?
